Goal: Write MRP Thesis

Goal: Write MRP Thesis

How does this goal fit?

This is the ultimate goal of my degree, and one that I feel especially prepared for, with my past experiences with academic writing and suitable skill set. While many particulars of how this MRP will look remain to be decided, I am confident in my ability to deliver this component. As is the case with so many other goals, the writing of the MRP thesis fits in as a part of the network of goals in front of me as a Master’s student, and those complementary goals will shape the what and the when of this one.

What activities will progress me towards this goal?

What resource(s) will I need to achieve this goal?

The most important resource for writing an MRP thesis is time – the best strategy for achieving this goal is to do everything necessary to give oneself sufficient time to document, and to argue for one’s contribution to academic research. This means being diligent in planning for the thesis paper at every opportunity, as soon as the aspects of the study become clear. This is in line with my writing style, one that resembles the process of prototyping, by rapidly producing outlines and iterations of slowly increasing detail.

It also means that, once again, I must make use of the resource that is being part of a cohort and academic community at OCAD. I am uniquely well-positioned to advise on writing, and am enthusiastic about doing so, which is an excellent position to be in when needing one’s own writing to be reviewed. I intend to act on this early and often.
